FREE Health Screenings to be Offered
Posted Date:
FirstCarolinaCare will be bringing the mobile health unit to the Town of Aberdeen to provide diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings for all full-time Town of Aberdeen employees.  These free health screenings will be conducted as follows:
  • Tuesday, November 6th from 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at the Fire Department.
  • Wednesday, November 7th from 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at Public Works.
All employees are asked to choose a time that is most convenient, and schedule an appointment by calling Regina at 944-4515 or Jamie at 944-4509. Do not eat for 9 hours before your appointment. You may have only water and black coffee to drink.  After your screenings, you will have an opportunity to meet with a nurse to discuss your results.  After reviewing your results, you will be
asked to set two health goals for yourself for the following 6 months. Your goals may be whatever you would like for them to be—you will be the one setting the goals. Examples may include: lose 5 pounds, maintain current
weight, lower blood pressure by 2%, lower cholesterol by 2%, etc. Six months later, at the Safety & Health Day, you will receive your screenings again and if you have met at least one of your goals, then you will get to participate in an ice cream social. The Cold Stone Creamery ice cream truck will visit the Town and bring free ice cream to those who succeeded in meeting their goal(s). So don’t delay, schedule your appointment!
