Wellness Seminar - Real Foods in Fast Times for Weight Loss

Real Foods in Fast Times is a seminar to help people learn about whole foods, why they matter, and how they can incorporate them into day-to-day life. This program is designed for the fast-paced American lifestyle and will teach participants how to transition from the standard American diet to a nutrient-dense, whole food diet and give your body more of what it needs, with fewer calories. The program teaches how to select and use nutrient dense whole foods. All recipes are plant based. No re- fined flour, sugar, and animal products such as eggs, fish, meat or dairy are used, as people know how to cook with them already.

In this session, participants will learn about recipes that are naturally low in fat, and high in fiber. Participants will also learn about research regarding starchy foods, and alternatives to some high-fat favorites. Participants will also learn about the “pleasure trap” and how it undermines our health. Why is it so difficult to eat well even when we know it hurts us not to? Participants will get to enjoy sample recipes in class including chocolate mousse, Thai salad, hummus, and cream of broccoli soup.
