100 Day Step Challenge to Begin September 13th

Structure of Program:
Join Town employees in an effort to achieve 1,000,000 steps in 100 days. The program will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 13th and participants should come by Town Hall to pay initial refundable fee of $10 to receive pedometer. Pedometers should be worn all day, every day, and steps will be recorded at Town Hall every Tuesday morning between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. A weekly fee of $1 is contributed to a pot, for a weekly drawing for those who meet weekly milestones. The weekly fees total $14 which needs to be paid on September 13th.  Participants will have the opportunity to walk/run for 30 minutes three times a week on the clock. Posters are located in each department and on the intranet with additional information about the challenge.

Program will run 100 days, ending on Dec. 21st. Prizes will be awarded on Dec. 22nd at 9:00 a.m. at Town Hall.

• $50 for each participant that achieves 1,000,000 steps
• 4 vacation hours for each participant that achieves 1,250,000 steps
• Or a total of 8 vacation hours for each participant that achieves 1,500,000 steps

Departments will also compete against each other and at the completion of the program, the department whose participants have the greatest average of steps - each of the participants will receive a $10 Subway gift card.
